Mission, Vision & Core Values
Our Mission:
To bring people to God—to be a community of believers, whose greatest desire is to reach and restore people through acts of service (Matt. 20:28) and love (1 Jn. 4:19; Mk. 12:30-31).
Our Vision:
To be a community of believers who reveal God to others (cf. Acts 1:8) and equip His people for good Kingdom work (cf. Eph. 2:10)—to be a spark that ignites the restoration of Highland.
Our Core Values:
Biblically Based: God's Word is our guide, authority, and conscience in everything. We stand firm where it stands firm and remain flexible where it is flexible (2 Tim. 3:16-17; ex. Josh. 1).
Passionate about Prayer: We believe that a devout and active practice of prayer is essential in everything we do (Eph. 6:18; 1 Thess. 5:17; Col. 4:2; ex. Matt. 6:5-15).
Authentic in Worship: We practice authentic and God-glorifying worship. Worship that is true, more than music, relevant to the culture, and lead by the Spirit (Col. 3:17; cf. 1 Cor. 9:20-22; ex. Jn. 4:20-24).
Loving Servants: We believe that since all people matter to God and are loved by Him; they are to matter and be loved by us as well. Jesus came with a message of love—with a heart that sought to seek and save the lost. Our individual lives and corporate efforts will reflect this conviction to do the same (Matt. 20:28; Lk. 19:10; 1 Jn. 4:19; ex. Jn. 13:1-17).
Discipling Disciples: We believe it is our Christ-commanded purpose to reveal and equip others to continue the mission and ministry first entrusted to Jesus’ disciples. We will make discipling disciples (Matt. 28:19-20).
Mission Minded: Jesus has called us to go and we will follow (Mk. 16:15; cf. Acts 1:8).
A People of Celebration: We believe that it is important to take time to have fun and celebrate what God is doing through His people (1 Thess. 5:16, 18; cf. Lk. 15:32).
